what is resistor?

What is resistor?

HELLO FRIENDS.

Resistor is a two terminal passive component which resists the current.

For eg:-  A river is flowing on his path and a stone is placed in the way of river. Stone works as resistor.

CONSTRUCTION:-

The terminal of resistor is made of aluminium, and the semiconductor is made of carbon or metal or metal oxide.

CALCULATION:-

A resistor is calculated in two main ways.

·       Multimeter

·       Color code scheme

For Color code chart click here:-

·       Mltimeter method is simple, just attach to probe on two side and set multimeter on resistance Ω.

·        In color code is also quite simple, just see the chart or watch the video.

Each color represent a number.

For eg:- black=0, brown=1, red=2, orange=3, etc.

A TIP:- to remember the color code just resite (bad beer rots our young guts but vodka goes well, get some now). It means (black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey, white, gold, silver, no color).

USES:-

·       Current limiting

·       Voltage divider

·       Signaling

·       Sensor
